12/14/18 Oh, the agony of defeat….

Yeah.  We lost to the Caps in shootout after coughing up a 4-1 lead.  Roller coaster night.

From the bleachers…
Note to the Caniac Fandom: Don’t start the wave that early. Don’t. Just don’t. I am a Waver, but I also believe in not tempting fate, counting chickens before they are hatched, etc.

The Adam Lee Decker Trio was more entertaining than most bands they bring in.  They did a nice job working with the acoustics that murder most bands’ sound.  Nice sound and rhythm.  I would like to hear them play live in a better venue one day.  He hot dogs the National Anthem, a bit, though.

And, I wonder what they pay these folks who play for us?

And a couple of weeks ago, I was having lunch with a  High School Band Mom.
I asked her, “Band Mom, if the Carolina Hurricanes reached out to your leaders, and said, “We’d love to have a H.S. Pep Band or drumline or drum and bugle corps as guests, would that get a positive reaction?”
I couldn’t get it all out without a resounding “Absolutely!”
That, folks, is low-hanging fan fruit, and would be wonderful community engagement.  The Canes STM gang loves that stuff.
And, it would be just about free for the PNC and the Canes.

Etiquette blunder of the night.
A small squadron of Caps Fans decided they couldn’t wait to go… whatever.  Trotted up the aisle, and when there was a cheer, stopped right in front of me, turned around to take a look (isn’t that what they had SEATS to do?)  and blocked my otherwise excellent view of a play in the crease.  Seems that Darling survived that shot, but, sheesh.
