12/16/18 The Thrill of Victory & Woo! Woo! Too!

Carolina Hurricanes 3.  Arizona Coyotes 0.  Fun to watch, after the first period.
Shutout for Mrazek.  Cool beans.  Aho! Svech!
Yeah, the Coyotes aren’t a playoff lock either, but a win is a win and this one was clear cut. And the Canes STM crew needed to see a good win.

We had a great chorus from some elementary schoolers. Cute. Fun.  Frosty the Snowman on a 60 degree day.  Loved it.
Community engagement that should be repeated often, and similar opportunities should be explored.Kids Christmas Chorus
The young woman from the Duke Acapella group also did a lovely job on the National Anthem.

I am always intrigued with the Canes event management’s concerted efforts to quash organic fan enthusiasm.  I call it the Canes “Fan Suppression Department.”
Actually, I love to hear the crowd break out in loud “Woo’s” for no particular reason other than they are enjoying themselves and the game.  Bring it on!
It is a little different from the soulless and repetitive “Make Some Noise” that the Canes use to quiet organic crowd activity, like when the fans start the Wave.
The apparent policy that entertainment and fun can only be Canes Event Management Standard Issue, and people should respectfully wait to be entertained is quite odd, methinks.  Let ’em get loud.  Learn to milk the crowd, not put them in their place.  Learn to encourage fan creativity, to recognize it and promote it.

Fans don’t buy tickets to sit passively and have dull repetitive “entertainment” forced on them to keep them subdued.  We’ve heard the playlist already.  Maybe so many times, the Canes could get Casey Kasem to MC it?
Fans want to spend most of a game on their feet making noise.  It’s why we Canes STM’s buy tickets!  We want to cheer for the boys!
Woo!  Woo!
