So, Thursday, Detroit beat the Canes 4-1. Lovely goal, Svech. A top shelf rocket.
Otherwise, we couldn’t buy a goal, even with the puck in the net, half over the line. Ouch.
Even Svechnikov’s goal was reviewed. And, for a LOOONG time. Good goal.
But, Canes Fan Suppression was also Top Shelf stuff during the delay.
The fans started to get a bit loud, a bit rowdy, during the delay. They were supporting the Hurricanes in demanding a “Good Goal” call.
But, in the nick of time proactive event management stepped in and played irrelevant music so loud there was no reason for fans in their seats to attempt to engage.
That sure put us back in our seats, and for a few minutes. Why bother? “Only officially authorized cheering allowed, Caniacs!”
On the bright side, the young lady singing the National Anthem truly has a lovely voice. As a Canes STM, I have heard several. She has a lovely voice, and does a great rendition.
Etiquette faux pas of the evening.
A group apparently thought we had a 7:30 puck drop. And, leisurely took their time ambling down to their seats, blocking the view.
Then there were the guys higher in Sec. 124, 75 feet away dropping F-Bombs so loud, we could plainly hear them. Crude. Rude. Sad.
